I have an idea but I don't know where to start?

You have a business idea but you don't know how to develop it into a concrete business? Look through the questions below and try to answer them honestly. This will help you to see things more clearly.

1st Step: Define clearly your idea

  • Can I simply explain my idea to others?
  • What kind of products or services do I want to sell?
  • Who are my potential clients?
  • Do I want to work with a partner?

2nd Step: My idea and myself

  • Why do I want to start my own business? To become my awn boss? Gain independence? Have more responsibilities? For the love of entrepreneurship? To concretize a long time dream?
  • Do I have the necessary skills to build a company? In accounting? In management? In marketing?
  • Does this project fit my tastes? My personality? My personal constraints? My experience?
  • Am I ready to invest my time and commitment to this project?
  • What does my family and friends think about my project?

3rd Step: The project's constraints

  • Are there any regulations? Do I need a business permit? Do I have the diploma required to start this kind of business?
  • Do my products/services already exist on the market?
  • If so, how will I differentiate my products/services?
  • Where and how will I sell them?
  • Is the cost of the project reasonable?

After having answered all these questions, and if you are still convinced that you want to start your business, you should carry on with a market study !
