Business Permit

The commercial sector (restaurants, transport, shops, …), the handcraft sector (bakery, car reparation,  construction, culture, …) and other liberal professions require a business permit to start the activity. We recommend you apply for the busines permit through the House of Entrepreneurship but the application can also be made through the website: www.guichet.lu or by email at the following: info.pme(at)eco.etat.lu (SME and entrepreneurship).

For handcraft professions, go to the Chambre des Métiers. Moreover, other activities, like coaching, are exempted from the Business permit.

 

A business needs a fixed operating workplace. A business owner will need to fill:

  • Good-repute requirements: based on criminal records et on a statement of oath related to managing functions in companies from the last 3 years.
  • Qualifications : For commercial activities: DAP, diplomas, professional experience of at least 3 years or formation / For handcraft professions: master's qualification, professional experience of at least 3 years / For liberal professions: specific authorization.
  • Pay a revenue stamp of 24€.

To withdraw your permit, the entrepreneur will have to come in person to the CCSS and will then precede to the matriculation as an independent. For Societies, the authorization will arrive through the post office.
