About Microlux:
Microlux is Luxembourg’s leading microfinance institution. Established as a Social Impact Company (SIS), its mission is to promote financial and social inclusion by enabling people who lack access to traditional bank credit to start or grow their businesses.
Through a program that combines microloans and support, microlux contributes to the development of a more inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem in Luxembourg.
Microlux relies on a small team of four employees, as well as the dedication of about twenty volunteers.
Microlux has also developed a strong network of public, private, nonprofit, and European partners, including BGL BNP Paribas, Foyer, ADA, and the European Investment Fund.
Your assignment:
Working closely with the Board of Directors and the team, you play a leading role in microlux’s development and growth, and you are responsible for day-to-day management.
To further microlux’s growth, you will lead the team through collaborative management, identify new growth opportunities with both entrepreneurs and partners, and engage the Luxembourg ecosystem in microlux’s mission.
Beyond your professional skills, you share the values of solidarity, inclusion, and respect that microlux upholds. You work to foster a collaborative work environment based on active listening, respect, trust, and the complementary nature of skills within the team.
Your main responsibilities:
- Actively contribute to defining microlux’s strategic direction and ensure its implementation;
- Strengthen existing partnerships and develop new strategic and financial collaborations with public, private, nonprofit, and European stakeholders;
- Oversee the day-to-day management of Microlux in accordance with its governance structure and internal policies, specifically:
- Monitor the budget, cash flow, business plan, and key performance indicators;
- Identify funding opportunities and prepare applications and funding requests;
- Ensure the preparation of financial, administrative, and impact reports;
- Prepare for Board of Directors meetings and shareholders’ meetings, and follow up on decisions made;
- Prepare for and lead risk committee meetings;
- Assist in preparing microcredit applications and participate in credit committees
- Oversee the management of the microcredit portfolio and monitor key risk indicators;
- Help maintain a balance between risk management and microlux’s mission of financial inclusion.
Your profile:
- You have several years of professional experience in Luxembourg, ideally in the fields of entrepreneurship and/or finance, and have a strong local network, particularly among Luxembourg’s government agencies and public institutions;
- You hold a master’s degree, ideally in management, finance, economics, law, social sciences, or a related field;
- You have proven experience in an organizational management or coordination role;
- You have strong skills in financial management and data analysis;
- You are comfortable managing partnerships and representing an organization in dealings with a variety of stakeholders;
- You have excellent writing skills in French and are able to prepare well-organized and persuasive reports;
- You have a good knowledge of French, English, and Luxembourgish. Proficiency in German and any other language is a plus;
- Entrepreneurial experience or a strong interest in entrepreneurship is a plus;
- Experience using a CRM system, such as Salesforce, is a plus;
